Redline Water Wetter is a unique cooling system additive that doubles the wetting ability of water. As a result, it reduces the bubbles and vapor barrier that build up on hot metal surfaces. This lets heat transfer away from the engine more efficiently, keeping intake air and coolant temperatures lower under load.
Redline Water Wetter also includes rust and corrosion protection. As a result, you can run straight water in racing applications, or use reduced antifreeze levels in warmer climates. This matters because straight water transfers heat better than glycol-based antifreeze. However, on its own, water corrodes metal quickly. Water Wetter solves that corrosion problem while keeping the better heat transfer of water. Consequently, it lowers cylinder head temperatures and can allow more spark advance for extra power and efficiency.
This additive works alongside new or used antifreeze, including DEX-COOL and other long-life formulas. As a result, you don’t need to drain your existing coolant to use it. It also satisfies ASTM D2570 and ASTM D1384 corrosion tests and contains no ethylene glycol. Additionally, it suits all modern aluminium, cast iron, copper, brass, and bronze cooling systems. It also cleans and lubricates water pump seals to reduce cavitation and extend their service life.
One 12oz bottle treats most passenger cars and light trucks. This covers 3 to 5 gallons, or 13.2 to 15.9 litres, of coolant. Vehicles with larger cooling systems, such as trucks or performance builds with big radiators, should use two bottles. Smaller systems only need about 1oz, or roughly 3 to 4 capfuls, per quart. Add it directly to the coolant reservoir or radiator once the system is filled, then top up as needed.
