Redline 80W250 GL-5 Gear Oil is the newest addition to Redline’s GL-5 lineup. It’s built for applications that need an SAE 250 gear oil. It also suits cases where a 140-grade oil no longer gives enough protection. As a result, it suits some of the toughest differential applications on the market.
This gear oil works as an alternative to Redline Heavy ShockProof in problem nitro drag race differentials. It’s also popular in Model A and Model T vehicles. It suits other antique or classic cars that call for 600W gear oil. Additionally, it reduces noise levels in Morgan 3 Wheeler bevel boxes. It also excels in off-road applications that require an SAE 250 oil.
Like the rest of Redline’s GL-5 range, this gear oil uses fully-synthetic, polyol ester base stocks. As a result, it holds up well under extreme pressure, and it resists oxidation better than conventional gear oils. Its high viscosity index also keeps film thickness more consistent as temperatures change, and it exceeds API GL-5 specifications. This gear oil is compatible with petroleum and other synthetic gear oils already in your differential. Extended drain intervals and reduced wear are common benefits across Redline’s GL-5 lineup.
Because 80W250 is such a specialized grade, Redline only produces it in a Gallon size. Always confirm your differential calls for SAE 250 before switching to this heavier grade.
